Section Six: Local Track Autonomy
1.00 The Organization shall not interfere with the operations of any sanctioned track. Promoters will operate as they deem appropriate. Local promoters will adhere to all Organization rules and specifications for Sanctioned Races. Other track operations are the responsibility of the local promoter. Local track rules, imposed on sanctioned races, shall not conflict or otherwise limit the Organizations rules. 2.00 Any driver that is assessed any local penalty during a Sanctioned Race event, for local rules relating to unsportsmanlike conduct, may have that penalty enforced throughout the Sanctioned Facilities upon application of the local Promoter to the Organization’s Board of Directors. The written request for the Organization to implement sanctions against an individual driver shall include the date, time, basis for the infraction, witnesses to the incident, and recommended remedy(s). Notification to the Executive Board must occur within 24 hours of the alleged violation. The Board of Directors shall consider the incident in totality, allow for input from the driver, and make its decision. 2.10 Remedy(s) may include any or all of the following: No action. Suspension of drivers points for the day and time of infraction. A reduction in driver’s points. Suspension of the driver from all Sanctioned Events for a period of time. Permanent suspension of the driver from the Sanctioning body. 2.15 Any driver that is penalized by the Organization, after first being allowed the opportunity to address the issue, shall abide by the decision of the Board and the Organization. Neither Sanctioning fee(s) nor any perceived points earnings shall be paid to the driver in the case of a sustained penalty that affects the driver’s points or standing in the Sanctioning Body.
Section Seven: Points1.00 Points shall be awarded to any driver in a sanctioned Feature race as follows. 1st Place 50 points 2nd Place 48 points 3rd Place 46 points 4th Place 44 points 1.10 In any sanctioned race, where eight or more Karts start the Feature race, points will be awarded as follows: 1st place 52 points 2nd Place 48 points 3rd Place 46 points 4th Place 44 points Each remaining place scores points descending by 2 points for each place. 1.12 In any sanctioned race, where twelve or more Karts start the Feature race, points will be awarded as follows: 1st place 54 points 2nd Place 48 points 3rd Place 46 points 4th Place 44 points Each remaining place scores points descending by 2 points for each place. 1.15 DQ A Disqualified Driver, having first taken the first green flag in a sanctioned feature race, shall score no points. 1.16 DNF A driver who fails to finish a sanctioned race, having first taken the first green flag in a sanctioned feature race, shall score the points for the position held as he left the track, with all others finishing the race, or more laps of the race, awarded higher positions. 1.20 The points total for the racing season shall be based on 20 races. Drivers with more than twenty sanctioned races will have their lowest point races dropped. Amended 11/09 to: The points total for the racing season shall be based on 12 races. Drivers may count only their first twelve sanctioned races, once a driver has twelve sanctioned races 2 races maybe dropped.
Section Nine: Prize Fund1.00 The Prize fund shall be awarded based upon a formula that divides the Total Organizational Prize Fund by the total number of Sanctioned Drivers. That number shall be the Base Number. The Base Number shall be multiplied by the number of Sanctioned Drivers in an individual class. That number shall be the Class Amount. 1.10 The Class Amount of the Prize Fund shall be divided among the top twenty point scorers in their class. The monies will be divided in a descending amount with High Point Driver awarded the largest prize.
Section Ten: State Points Champion 1.00 NWOK will recognize a State Point Champion from each State that has a Sanctioned Track(s). 1.10 Each racer may accumulate points within a state regardless of his residency. 1.15 Each racer may include his highest scoring 15 races within a State towards the NWOK State Points Championship. 1.16 In the event of a tie, additional race scores will be counted one by one until a winner is determined. 1.17 In the event that a points tie cannot be broken by the formula stated, racers will share the title of NWOK State Points Co-Champion.
